I have published multiple novellas with eighteenth/nineteenth century settings. Three--A Man of Few Words, Mr. B Speaks!, and Persuadable--are grounded in English society during Samuel Richardson's and Jane Austen's time periods. The Roesia Chronicles--a fantasy series filled with magicians, quests, and politicians--reflects Austen and Richardson-like customs and settings.
All novellas are available in both electronic and print format.
Mr. B Speaks! Notes
Francis Hayman, 1742
Illustration from Pamela or Virtue Rewarded
Mr. B Speaks! is both a satire of literary analysis (as found in the college environment) and a retelling of Pamela by Samuel Richardson, told mostly from the perspective of the rogue hero, Pamela's stalker/ boyfriend/ fiancé/ husband . . . Mr. B.
The links below are for notes/ commentary about eighteenth century life corresponding to sections of the novella.
